Commander,
alarming news from the western front: looks like our mothership is facing battle with the forces of evil. On the 8.08.08 our elite troops under the codename “BARCELONA” reported hearing that Parnassusweg, the Intergalactic KingDOOM of FuckYou, has ordered all our troops to be destroyed by the 31st of August. The colony occupied by the rebels has been ordered to surrender to the slimy greedy evil overlord Ymere and his henchman stadsdeel Westerpark.
From our counter-intelligence we have learned that the strong arm of the enemy is so powerful that our mothership could be turned into a pile of rubble any second now. It looks like the only thing we can do is to save all our resources and to try to colonize ourselves a new homebase somewhere close by. But we are not going to surrender! This is just one battle - the war continues.

Python crash course in May
During the Saturdays of May 24th and May 31st, our fellow nerd caedes, who is staying in Amsterdam, is going to give a crash course in the Python programming language.
The Python language is a cross platform tool that allows you to do a lot of things. Many applications are written in it or use little pieces of python code. This is a course for people that already have an idea of what programming is (what is a loop, what is a variable and so on) but you don’t need to know anything about Python.
We think that good courses are the ones that leave a curious flock behind them that can later share newbie tricks and teach each other, and we would like to have at least 10 people joining the course for it to be a success. If we are more, we are going to be able to keep playing with it and learning together even when the course finishes.

Installfest realoaded

Hey people.
Because of bad weather many of you couldn’t bring your pcs to our install fest. That’s why we decided still make it possible to install ubuntu before the actual workshop starts. But we want to avoid the situation where we gonna be busy installing on the they of the workshop. Thats why you still can bring your computer on Wednesday from 16:00 (at 20:00 we have voku and a bar until 0:00), and Thursday from 17:00 until 20:00.
LINUX Course For Beginners

After a long delay and loads of empty promises we finally got ourselves together and prepared a course for all of you who want to unleash the hidden powers of free software. This course is meant for people who have no experience with Linux, who’ve only used Windows (you poor things!) or even have never laid a hand on a computer before. Our focus is to show you how to install, use and do other cool shit with Linux just by click, click, clicking away - no need to give weird commands to your computer or other strange stuff like that. Simple as fuck!

Copyleft reloaded! We finally managed to renovate our cafe slightly (so that there’s no more danger of freezing to death) and we are now proud to present the new face of Copyleft. 
So what’s new, besides no more annoying kids running around?
At the moment Copyleft is open two dayz a week.

Hey people,
We’re starting our weekly meetings with coffee and computers. Every Saturday we’re gonna gather to provide support for both beginner users and more advanced ones. Also we count on knowledge-sharing by more advanced users. So, to cut the crap and say it shortly:
- Installfest, workshops and experiments.
If you have trouble installing your Linux, configuring it or whatever, bring your machine to us and together we hope to be able to solve the problems. There’s always extra screens, keyboards and mice available. We can guide you through installation as well as show you the basics, like installing/removing software, configuring your network and hardware settings.

Hey hungry boys and girls, we’re back!
As the neighbourhood gets richer and richer in juicy resources, the prey is easy to hunt, we decided to grab pots and pans and cook some yuppies for dinner. Every Wednesday a group of fine, urban worriors gathers to hunt down an easy prey and cook it for a bunch of hungry mad beasts ready to kill for a piece of tofu. Unfortuanealy it’s not as easy as it sounds. these dayz prey has fast cars, fine bikes and the pigs on their side. Somehow we manage with the task. Not always on time but always with amazing resaults. Fortunatealy the bar is open while we’re busy choping the prey into pieces, otherwise we would have to sacrifice one of us every week to feed these monsters.
So if one wednesday you feel that your stomach just stick to the spine and it no longer even screams for food, just follow the smell of our fine kitchen. Van boetzelaerstraat 1 from 20:00 ’till 0:00, food around 21:30.
