In self-proclaimed non-hierarchical and anti-authoritarian social movements, tremendous hierarchy and authority exist but are hidden beneath the surface of internal debate and movement subcultures. For anyone in the squatters movement in Amsterdam, such tensions are obvious but often not systematically examined. This academic presentation explores this particular aspect of the social world of the Amsterdam squatters movement and will be followed by a debate and discussion.

Joe's is weer open: grand opening op donderdag 24 september 2009

De verbouwing is klaar, Joe's is niet alleen een stuk brandveiliger geworden, het ziet er een stuk mooier uit en het gebruiksgemak voor de vrijwilligers is ook een stuk beter geworden. Dank aan de klusploeg!!!
Op maandag 21 september is er dus weer vega volkskeuken, iedereen welkom vanaf 19.00u, eten klaar om 20.00u.
1 mei: Manifestatie Dappermarkt & Debat in Joes
1 mei posterOp de Eerste Mei vieren diegene, die geen ander eigendommen hebben dan hun arbeidskracht, de strijd voor hun sociale rechten. Het is een dag van feest voor de reeds samen afgedwongen rechten maar ook en dag om samen na te denken over hoe zulke rechten ook in de toekomst afgedwongen kunnen worden. Opstandig Oost Amsterdam nodigt daarom uit tot een manifestatie op de Dappermarkt gevolgd door een debat in sociaal centrum Joes Garage. Komt allen, leve de Revolutionaire Eerste Mei!
