Alejandro Jodorowsky stars as The Alchemist in this psychedelic masterpiece about the search for enlightenment. Fusing together many of his previously investigated themes, The Holy Mountain catalogues a religious icon's surreal journey through magical realms that both mirror reality and verge on the psychotic. Financed entirely by John Lennon and Yoko Ono, The Holy Mountain is a more associative, more abstract, and better version of El Topo, which also features a protagonist searching for his soul. Completely original in its blend of Mexican magical surrealism and peace-inducing, humorous commentary on Latin American colonialism and the idiocy of war, Holy Mountain is one of the most outlandish examples of avant-garde filmmaking. Wonderfully colorful sets, zany characters in costumes straight out of the subconscious, and an inspired soundtrack, reinforce this absurdist statement about death and rebirth. The Holy Mountain is not only a masterpiece, it's a spiritual journey, and it just might very well change the way you look at the world. Not everyone will like it, so sit back and watch with an open mind. The Holy Mountain is one of the most underrated and important films ever made.

Meestal is Marijn te bewonderen door het hele land als frontman van de rockband NuffSaid en anders speelt hij wel ergens met The Oscars maar deze keer staat ie in z'n eentje bij ons met een akoestische gitaar. Er zullen ongetwijfeld wat nr's van z'n band voorbij komen maar voornamelijk een hoop persoonlijk werk.
GHOST IN MY BASEMENT [USA]
Deze bizarre muzikant uit New York komt solo langs met een vreemde vorm van blues. Zoals hij zelf zegt is het een soort minimal blues maar zonder de cliché-riff's.
STEED
Eindelijk weer eens een verfrissend Nederlands pop/rock bandje dat het recht heeft zo veel mogelijk te spelen. Duidelijk beïnvloed door allerlei verschillende muzikale kanten maar goed verwerkt in catchy eigen nummer's.

A special benefit night to pay tribute to Mohammed Jimmy Mohammed, the amazing blind Ethiopian singer who died on December 17, 2006 in Addis Ababa.
Jimmy played with his trio 3 times at OT301 and is greatly missed by all of us here as well as by the many friends and fans he made on his Dutch tours. All proceeds from this night will go to help Jimmy's wife and 2 young children.

First in a new monthly series featuring DJ MARCELLE and guest artists.
DJ MARCELLE
Sometimes called "the female John Peel" for her original and
varied live sets and weekly radio shows, Dutch woman Marcelle van Hoof
plays an eclectic selection of weird electronica, techno, dubstep,
minimal, drum+bass, riot grrls, ragga, grime, leftfield hiphop,
clickhouse, breakcore, heavy dubs et cetera. She knows no boundaries!
Every Tuesday between 19 and 22 hours CET Marcelle hosts an internet
radio show which attracts lots of listeners from all over the world. The
show is called Another Nice Mess and it has been running for more than
20 years. In 2005, English artist Listen With Sarah composed a song,
Another Nice Mix, entirely made out of samples from Marcelle her
radioshow and 2004 mix cd. That song, featuring amongst others the
voices of John Peel, Laurel + Hardy and Marcelle, was voted number 13 in
the BBC Radio One Festive 50 of 2005. Marcelle is a wicked live deejay,
playing her sets across stages in Europe.

A 8mm/16mm celluloid evening of short films.
Een nieuwe voorstelling, met natuurlijk weer een nieuwe selectie films! Met bijzondere dank aan Koos Breukel, die met een aantal prachtige films kwam.
De nadruk ligt dit keer op landbouw in de ruimste zin. Prachtige instructiefilms voor bijvoorbeeld Der BergBauer in de Beiersche Alpen. Deel 1 uit 1930, en deel 2 uit 1976. Landje ruilen in een gehucht in Italië in 1950. Hoe werkt een tractor, als je een paard gewend bent? Een nieuwe aflevering van de voorlichting voor de Lagere Landbouwschool in Holland uit 1954.
Maar er is meer, veel meer. Zoals: Het Leven van de Das. De Das is een gezellig beest, die zijn huisje elk jaar van een nieuw dekbed voorziet. Je wordt bijna jaloers. Prachtige z/w beelden uit 1950, echt prachtig.
Als de tijd het toelaat: Nog wat nuttige informatie uit 1965 over LSD, alcohol, marihuana, speed en dat soort gevaarlijke dingen. Een krankzinnige promotiefilm uit de USA over 'Chemie'. Hoe erg 'over-the-top' kun je het maken vraag je je weleens af. Ook is er een nieuwe zending onderweg vanuit Littleton, Colorado. Sprocket Sounds blijft je verrassen!

Two independent filmmakers were inside Venezuela's presidential palace when Hugo Chavez was forcibly removed from office, only to return to power 48 hours later. Their film records what was probably history"s shortest-lived coup d'etat ever.

An independently produced documentary about squatting in Amsterdam.
In the Netherlands the practice of occupying empty houses in order to use them as living spaces has been tolerated since the late 1960s. Whereas the movement's heyday in the 1980s is history by now, the everlasting housing shortage is still striking as a basic condition for squatting. As well as the exceptional legal situation within the Netherlands, the autonomous structures of the squatter's community are addressed. By means of interviews and gazing actions a glance is thrown at today's squatting practices.
